The London Gateway is the UK’s newest deep-sea container port, and Europe’s largest logistics park on the site of a former Shell refinery 25 miles east of Central London.
Our process began with developing 3D sketches in our drawing office to establish the starting point of the project. From there, the steelwork was prepared in our workshop, and sent to specialist painters for a brilliant white coating, as requested by our client.
Building Steel Solutions then installed and erected the steel using the designs produced by our drawing department, already approved by the client, as a guide. Throughout this process, we diligently continued to protect the high-gloss finish on the steel by working around the protective wrapping.
The reception building is now one of the most prominent buildings on site, and the steelwork is on view behind glass curtain walling. This means that our special engineering is in clear view, appreciated by our client.
